Dr. Raju Narayan Swamy

Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy popularly known as Kerala's Anti Corruption Crusader is the All India Topper of the 1991 batch of the IAS and is currently posted as Secretary to the Government of   Kerala ,  Chairman KBPS and Special Officer, WTO ( World Trade Organization) Cell.  Dr Swamy holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the IIT Madras and his Ph.D. thesis is titled " Development, Ecology and Livelihood : A Case Study of the Paniya Community in Wynad District"  . He also has a Post graduate Certificate in Cyber Law, a PG Diploma in Environmental Law and   three PG  Diplomas from the National Law University, Delhi- one in Urban Environmental Management and Law,  another in Environmental Law and Policy and a third one in Tourism and Environmental Law.  He also holds a Diploma in Cyber Law (from the Government Law College Mumbai and  Asian School of Cyber Laws), a certification in Cyber Law (from the Indian Law Institute, Delhi)   as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Law and a Diploma in Entrepreneurship Administration and Business Laws - both from the West Bengal National University of Judicial Sciences, Kolkata . Dr Swamy is the first all India service officer in the country to successfully complete all the courses on disaster management organized by the World Bank Institute. He has also successfully completed all the 21 courses conducted by the Institute for Training and Technical Co-operation in the World Trade Organisation , Geneva.

Dr Swamy has held various positions in the Government including District Collector and District Magistrate of five districts, Managing Director of the State Marketing Federation, Director of Collegiate Education and Commissioner of Civil Supplies.  He was the Chairman of the Committee constituted by the State Government to draft a youth policy for the State.  He has been an Observer of the Election Commission of India in 26 general and bye-elections held in 16 States across the country. 

Dr. Swamy is an author of 26 books ( novels, short stories, travelogues, children's literature, popular science etc.) and is a winner of the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award and the Award instituted by Kerala State Institute of Children's Literature ( an institute established  under the Cultural Affairs Department of Government of Kerala) in the science section.  He is a regular columnist in many weeklies and fortnightlies in the vernacular.  He has presented papers in a number of national and international conferences and has published more than 150 papers in journals of repute.  He has delivered talks in many reputed institutions across the country in topics varying from IPR law to e-governance.  Dr Swamy has undergone several short term training programmes including those at IIM, Bangalore, IIFT, Delhi , Tata Management Training Centre, Pune and ENA, Paris.  He is a holder of the Homi Bhabha fellowship in the area of Cyber law and Cyber Forensics and the Dr Mohan Sinha Mehta Research Fellowship of the IAEA.

Ananth Padmanabhan

Ananth Padmanabhan practises law in the Madras High Court. In this capacity, he has acted as Counsel for various sound recording labels and the Phonographic Performance of India Ltd. (PPL) and undertaken significant advisory work including on the Copyright (Amendment) Act. His recently published book titled "Intellectual Property Rights: Infringement & Remedies (LexisNexis Butterworths Wadhwa 2012)" is a pioneering effort of scholarship on this field in India. Mr. Padmanabhan is an alumni of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and has many accomplishments to his credit. Some of his achievements back then include the H.M. Seervai Gold Medal, Best Essay in Constitutional Law in 2006¸Winner & Best Speaker at the Bar Council of India Moot (2004-05) and Editor, National Law School of India Review (2004 -05).

Apart from his private practice, Ananth has also taken the time out to teach courses at the National Law University, Jodhpur, and the Bharatidasan Institute of Management, Trichy. T.C. James, Director, NIPO, is former Director (IPRs), Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (2001-2009). Earlier, he had been Deputy Registrar, Copyright Office (1996-2001). He had been leader/member of Indian delegations on intellectual property rights to WIPO, WTO and UNO. He had also been key negotiator on IPR matters in bilateral trade negotiations with many countries.

Vikrant Pachnanda

Vikrant Pachnanda is an Advocate having pursued his B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar (GNLU), an LLM from Cornell Law School and an LLM in Advanced Air & Space Law from the International Institute of Air & Space Law at Leiden University, Netherlands. He presently judges both the National and International Rounds of the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot, which is held annually and is the one of the only moot court competitions in the field of air law in the world. He had also participated in the said moot court competition both as a GNLU student and as a coach of the GNLU team in the past. He is also an aviation law consultant advising on several aviation related issues such policy related issues amongst others.  He was one of the 8 students who were part of the first batch of students that enrolled in the inaugural course of air law at GNLU.

Prof. Shyam Kishore

Prof. V. Shyam Kishore is a founding faculty member of Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, Bangalore.Prof. V. Shyam Kishore is a founding faculty member of Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, Bangalore. Prior to entering the academic profession he practiced law as a foreign legal adviser in Singapore in two reputed law firms namely, Rajah & Tann LLP and Arfat Selvam Alliance LLC from June 2008 to May 2009.
